Salamonie Lake seniors lunch, Nov. 7:
Salamonie Lake will hold a seniors lunch Monday, Nov. 7, at 12:30 p.m. in its Interpretive Center.

Individuals over age 50 are invited to meet Dwight Ericsson and learn about Chief Richardville.

Ericsson is a 35-year resident of Huntington and an active volunteer with the Historic Forks of the Wabash. He will present “Chief Richardville, A Man for His Time, and the Times of the Man.”

Pasta and meatballs will be provided by Upper Wabash Interpretive Services (UWIS). Seniors should bring a dish to pass, their own table services and a $1 donation to help with the cost of the provided meat dish.

To help determine the correct amount of pasta and meatballs, those interested should register by calling UWIS, (260) 468-2127, or visiting the interpretive center.

The center is in Lost Bridge West Recreation Area, Highway 105, in western Huntington County. Upper Wabash Interpretive Services is at 3691 S. New Holland Road, Andrews, 46702.

Steampunk Event for teens Nov. 10
The Wells County Public Library invites all area teens ages 12-18 to a Steampunk event, Nov. 10, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to celebrate the genre of science fiction and fantasy books and movies.

Attendees will get a chance to watch the movie “Around the World in 80 Days” with Jackie Chan, decorate Steampunk top hats, and eat Victorian/Steampunk food. Steampunk fiction will be on display to check out. Feel free to dress in costume.

Veterans and soldiers invited to breakfast Nov. 11 at NMS
Military veterans and those currently serving are invited to the annual Veterans Day breakfast at Norwell Middle School at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11.

Breakfast will be followed by a program in the Norwell High School gym to honor local veterans. Veterans should enter through Door #36 (NMS pool and gym entrance) and sign in.

Holiday Bazaar and Book Fair at Swiss Village Nov. 11 & 12
The staff and residents of Swiss Village Retirement Community will sponsor the annual Holiday Bazaar Friday, Nov. 11, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m. to noon. The public is welcome.

A variety of handmade holiday items such as Christmas decorations, ceramics, and fall items will be on display in the Boutique and Social Corner at Swiss Village, located at 1350 West Main Street in Berne.

For a nominal fee, a light lunch will be served on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Swiss Village will also host a holiday book fair by Books Are Fun, Friday, Nov. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.

Purchases made at the Fair will allow Books Are Fun to donate books to the Kinder Haus Day Care Library. Parking will be available in the circle drive at the main entrance. For more information call Michelle McIntosh at (260) 589-3173.
