Community choir begins Sept. 12
The Men and Women’s Community Choir will again be forming for the Christmas season. Practices will be at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Thiele Road., starting Monday, Sept. 12, and every Monday after at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in singing in the choir may call Terry Springer at 260-615-7644 or come to practice. The choir is put together so they can raise money for the needy.
Trail of Courage Living History Festival Sept. 17-18
The 36th annual Trail of Courage Living History Festival will be held Sept. 17-18 in Rochester on the Fulton County Historical Society grounds on the north side of the Tippecanoe River four miles north of Rochester on U.S. 31. Fulton County Museum, Round Barn Museum, and Living History Village called Loyal are at the north end of the grounds. Festival will be held at the south end of grounds on the riverbank. Historic encampments include French and Indian War, Voyageurs, Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Western Fur Trade, Plains Indian tepees, Woodland Indian wigwams, muzzle loading shooting and tomahawk throwing contests, historic canoe landing and fur trade skit, and canoe rides.
Chippeway Village will have over 40 wooden booths, log cabin trading post, 1832 post office, frontier blab school, storytellers, 18th century puppet show. Foods cooked over wood fires include buffalo burgers, chicken and noodles, stew in big kettles, and more. Traditional crafts include basketry, weaving, spinning, pewter casting, headwork, broom making, candle dipping, etc.

Indy Jazz Fest Sept. 12-17
WICR will present a free concert featuring the Indy Jazz Fest Band at University of Indianapolis. The Indy Jazz Fest has unveiled the artists taking the stage as part of the festival’s week-long Sunset Series as it prepares to kick off its 13th year. Seasonal Influenza Vaccine Clinic Sept. 14 in Warren
The Huntington County Health Department will have a flu shot clinic at the Warren Pharmacy Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $20 for adults (age 18 and older), cash only.
The 2011 flu shot also contains the H1N1 strain.
Children who are Medicaid patients (18 and under) may obtain the shot for a $5 administration fee (cash only), if they present a currently active Medicaid card. The Health Department cannot file for adult Medicaid or Medicare patients. Residents of neighboring counties are welcome.
