Five Points Fall Festival Sept. 7
Five Points School Fall Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
Available will be pulled pork sandwiches, ham and beans and fried cornbread and homemade ice cream.
Activities will include old-time games for the kids, a craft bazaar, exhibits and the restored 1876 schoolhouse.
All events are free, however, a free will offering will be accepted and appreciated. All proceeds will be used to further restore and maintain the school and grounds.

The 39 Steps’ on stage at FW Civic, starting Sept. 7
The fast-paced whodunit based in the Hitchcock film, “The 39 Steps” will be the next production for the Fort Wayne Civic Theater.
Performance dates are Saturday, Sept. 7 & 14, at 8 p.m.; Friday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. and Sunday Sept. 8 & 15 at 2 p.m. at the Arts United Center.
Ranae Butler will direct the cast of four who will take the roles of 100 zany characters.
Admission is $24 for adults, $20 for Sunday senior matinees and $15 for those 23 and younger.

On Sept. 7, an opening night party will be hosted by the Civic Theatre Guild. Admission is $2.

Waynedale in the Park Aug. 24
St. Mark Lutheran Church will have a booth at Waynedale in the Park Saturday, Aug. 24, beginning at 10 a.m. Pick up a flier, see pictures and speak with people about the church’s ministries. There will also be free food, a moon-walk, bingo, door prizes, possible pony rides and more. This is located in the town of Waynedale.

Singles and Separates Support Group begins Aug. 28
A support group will begin meeting Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 2 p.m. for anyone who is experiencing the loss of a loved one or have a spouse who is living in long-term care, or suffering from dementia or another illness. It will be held at the Arthur and Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion at 1201 Emmental Drive in Berne. Chaplain Mike Wertenberger will head the group. Members of the support group will form friendships and bonds with others who are facing similar situations, and gain valuable resources to help rebuild their life. The support group will be held the fourth Wednesday of each month.
Non members and members of the Wellness Pavilion are welcome to attend this free support group.

Huntington Library to host Princess Party Aug. 29
The Huntington City-Twp. Public Library is welcoming princesses ages three and up to a Princess Party at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Huntington Main Library at 255 West Park Drive, Huntington.  The event will consist of princess stories and princess activities. Some activities include making tiaras, face painting, and more!
Princesses can come in jeans and pearls or full regal attire. Princesses age 3-5 should come to enjoy the event, Princesses grades 6-12 are needed to help make tiaras, paint faces, etc…, and Princesses and Queens ages 19 + are needed to bring finger food and other snacks.

A separate Princess Party will be held at the Markle Branch on Saturday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m. Registration is underway. Call the Markle Branch at 758-3332 to register. 

Ossian Nazarene Church Garage Sale Sept. 13th & 14th
Members of the Ossian Nazarene Church will sponsor a garage sale Friday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 302 N. Metts Street.
All proceeds will go to Kids Club.

Zanesville Homespun Day events listed
Zanesville Homespun Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 31. A list of events is as follows:
Pankcake Breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m.
Parade will be held at 10 a.m.
Booths will open at 10 a.m.
Lions barbeque chicken will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A petting zoo will be held at the park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will also be town-wide garage sales held throughout the day.
A pet contest will be held at 11 a.m. A bike rodeo will begin at noon. There will be free horse and wagon rides from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A car, arts and craft show will be held throughout the day. 
The IHS Exhibit “Auto Indiana” will be available for viewing from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A slow pitch, co-ed tourney will be held throughout the day.

Fall explorations for seniors to begin on Sept. 23
Wells County seniors should be ready to explore the opportunities for learning being offered by the Bluffton Parks Department as they announce “Senior Exploration” for the fall of 2013. The five week program is designed for adults who are interested in continued learning and will be starting on Monday, Sept.. 23 and continue through Oct. 28, skipping Oct. 7. Classes will be held at the Boys and Girls Club, 1410 Wayne St. in Bluffton. There is a one-time fee of $12, due with registration, which is now open.
The mornings will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a Continental breakfast, sponsored in part by Bluffton Regional Medical Center, with announcements and name tag pick-up.
9 a.m. classes will include Games Galore and Wells County History. Arrangements also are being made to offer “How is it made?”
10 a.m. classes are: Counted Cross Stitch, Crochet and Healthy Living
11 a.m. classes are: Birds, Bugs & Blooms, iPad Apps for Everyday Use (must have own iPad with class to be at the library), Knitting and Book Club. (Book Club to study “From Russia With Love,” watch a movie, explore. The Book Club will study “From Russia With Live,” watch a movie, explore a little of 007’s history and future and spend time focusing on Sean Connery. A related book will be provided.)

Bluffton Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays

Living Water Community Carry-In Aug. 15
Members at Living Water United Church will have their community carry-in fellowship dinner Thursday, Aug. 15 at noon at 6486-E., 700-S., Bluffton.
Arlene Stoller will provide entertainment for the event. The public is welcome to attend.

Free movie for seniors Aug. 15
On Thursday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. the Wells County Public Library will be featuring a free movie each month for seniors 50 years of age and older.
This month’s featured movie will be about the life of Jackie Robison and his famous jersey number “42.”.
Sponsoring the event is the Bluffton Parks and Recreation Department, the Wells County Public Library and the Bluffton Regional Senior Circle.
Free snacks will be available. A 10 minute health info update and prizes will be part of the program. Prizes this month have been donated by Christian Care Retirement Center.

First Church of Christ Garage Sale Aug. 17
Members of the First Church of Christ will sponsor a garage sale Saturday, Aug. 17 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 909 W. Spring Street in Bluffton.
All proceeds will go to a team doing missions in Peru for two months.

Plant and Bake Sale Aug. 24
The Montpelier Friends of the Library will sponsor a Plant and Bake Sale Aug. 24 at the Farmers Market, on the corner of Main and State Road 18 beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Fall perennials and a baked items will be available for purchase.

Slusher Reunion Aug. 25
The descendants of Josiah and Naomi Slusher will gather for the 54th annual Slusher family reunion Sunday, Aug. 25 at noon at Dillman Church in Jackson Twp. in Wells County.

FWMA seeking docents
The Fort Wayne Museum of Art is looking for quality individuals to join the respeced group of volunteeers known as docents that lead school gallery tours.
Over 6,000 student visitors each year depend on this group for visual arts education as a supplement to their classroom curriculum. Participants do not have to be an educator with an advanced degree, but they must love art and communicating with people as the museum seeks to fulfill its mission of changing lives with art.

Free movie at Kehoe Park Aug. 9
The Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor their next Free Family Movie Night at Kehoe Park Friday night Aug. 9 at dusk (8:45 p.m,) Those attending should bring their own lawn chair, blankets, bug spray and snacks. Sheets Wildlife Museum  Movie Day Aug. 10
Sheets Wildlife Museum and Learning Center will be sponsor a movie day Saturday, August 10.  The movie will be free. Those who would like a tour of the museum, the price would be $1 per person.  The movie will begin at 10:30 a.m.  and will last  approximately 55 minutes. 
The movie will be Shark Quest. It follows underwater photographers, Rob Torelli and Mark Priest, as they free dive with Great White sharks from South Africa to New Guinea. This extraordinary experience brings them face to face with feeding sharks, manta rays and even a Bryde’s Whale, one of the few whales that prefer warmer water and are near extinction. There will be an easy quiz with the top three youth receiving a gift certificate to be used in the museum gift shop. Seating is limited. Call 356-9453 to reserve a seat.  

Spike and the Bulldogs to perform Aug. 10 in Berne
Spike and the Bulldogs will perform songs of the 50’s and 60’s at Muensterberg Plaza Clock Tower at 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. 
Food will be available for purchase. The inclement weather site is Burkhalter Auditorium at South Adams High School at 1075 Starfire Way, Berne.  

Gospel Concert in Ossian Aug. 11
Members of the Ossian Church of the Nazarene will sponsor a gospel concert Sunday, Aug. 11 at 6 p.m.  One Accord will be the featured group performing that night. A love offering will be taken for the admission charge.

Senior Care Services Info Aug. 21
Senior Care Services is a new member of the LifeStream portfolio of programs to help individuals, families and caregivers navigate through the world of providing extra support and care for their aging loved ones or those in their families who have disabilities.
LifeStream is the Aging and Disability Resource Center for East Central Indiana. The agency helps people in Delaware, Blackford, Grant, Madison, Henry, Randolph and Jay counties with independent living solutions.
Ean Taylor, senior care advisor, will talk about the new Senior Care Services during two public sessions planned for August at Kennedy Library in Muncie. The program is scheduled for 1-2 p.m. Aug. 14 and will be repeated 6:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 21.
The senior care advisor works with screening, arranging and monitoring in-home and community-based services as indicated by an individualized service plan.

FW’s Artlink seeking artwork by Aug. 9
Fort Wayne’s Artlink is seeking art for two shows.
The Great Outdoors exhibit will be shown from Sept. 6 to Oct. 9, featuring all media work with a “great outdoors” theme. Deadline to  participate is Aug. 9. For a registration form and more information go to the Artlink website at www.artlinkfw.com
The Lots of Little Art exhibit will be viewable from Oct. 18 to Dec. 4, with all media eligible in the sizes of either 6 by 6 inches, three dimensional of 6 by 6 by 6 inches. 
The mats and frames can’t exceed 12 inches in any direction. Art must have been done within the last 3 years.

Adams Senior Luncheon Aug. 28
The August Senior Luncheon will be held at the South Adams Senior Center on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at noon.  The meal will be catered by Norm’s Preble Gardens and will include ham, cheesy potatoes, green beans, rolls and butter, chocolate cake, and beverages.  Reservations are needed  no later than Monday, Aug. 26. Cost is $6. The Entertainment will be furnished by Doug Milligan. All August Birthday’s and anniversaries will be acknowledged.

Pajama Story Times at Huntington Twp. Library in August
Huntington City-Twp. Public Library will offer kids ages 3-7 to wear their pajamas and bring their teddy bears to Pajama Story Times in August at the Main Library for Pajama Story Time sessions at 7 p.m. Aug. 6, 13, 20.

25¢ Church Rummage Sale Aug. 10
Living Faith Missionary Church will sponsor a 25¢ Church Rummage Sale Saturday, Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The church is located at 17718 S. Bluffton Road in Yoder.
This is the fourth year that the church has hosted this event. 
Every item in the sale will cost only 25¢. There will be free games for the kids.

The Wells County Farm Bureau will hold their annual meeting Monday, Aug. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Wells County 4-H Community Building in Bluffton. The annual meeting is open to voting members.
Pick up tickets at the Farm Bureau office to reserve a seat.

GE Quarter Century Club Outing Sept. 7
The 99th annual GE Quarter Century Club members will hold their annual outing Saturday, Sept. 7at Goeglein’s Catering  at 7311 Maysville Rd Ft Wayne.

Dillman UB Ice Cream Social Sept. 7
Dillman United Brethren will sponsor an Ice Cream Social Saturday, Sept. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church’s Fellowship Hall. 
Featured will be Dillman made sloppy joe sandwiches, hot dog and sloppy dog sandwiches, chips, relishes, ice cream, pies, and cakes. 
Free will donations will be taken. Proceeds will be used for the multi-purpose building project.
