Preschoolers program at Salamonie, July 18
Children ages 2 to 5 are invited to a morning of learning and water fun Wednesday, July 18 at the Salamonie Interpretive Center at Salamonie Lake. The program will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Children will participate in water activities, bubbles and other fun camping-type activities. Participants should bring a swimsuit or an extra set of clothing. Parents or caregivers are expected to stay with their child throughout the program.

In almost any weather, the program is planned to be both indoors and outdoors, starting at the interpretive center. Participants can bring their lunch to eat together after the event.

There is a $2-per-child fee for the program. The standard property entrance fee will be waived for program attendees.

Cherry Pie to be Auctioned at 4-H July 19
A homemade cherry pie made and donated by Helen Witte of Jefferson Township will be auctioned at the 4-H Livestock Auction July 19.

The cherry pie will be baked in a commemorative 4-H pie plate. Proceeds will go to the Wells County 4-H Foundation for scholarships to be awarded to 4-H members.

The auction will begin at 3:30 p.m., and the sale order will be as follows: dairy, dairy beef, sheep, dairy feeder, goat, poultry, 4-H Foundation, swine, rabbit, and beef.

Engraved Silver Coin to be Auctioned July 19
A silver coin engraved with “2012 Wells County 4-H” will be sold at the 4-H Livestock Auction Thursday, July 19. The coin was donated by Mr. And Mrs. Ron Meyers. Proceeds will go to the Wells County 4-H Foundation for scholarships to be awarded to 4-H members.

The auction will begin at 3:30 p.m. The sale order will be as follows: dairy, dairy beef, sheep, dairy feeder, goat, poultry, 4-H Foundation, swine, rabbit, and beef.
