Friends of Animal Shelter meeting March 12
The Friends of the Animal Shelter will meet Monday, March 12, at 5:30 p.m. at Bluffton City Hall conference room.
Agenda topics include upcoming events, garage sale, spay/neuter clinics and summer parades.

Green and Growing program March 14 at Salamonie
Children ages two to five can attend the Green and Growing program for preschoolers at Salamonie Interpretive Center Wednesday, March 14, from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The program will be both indoors and out, starting at the Interpretive Center. Cost is $2 per child. Register by calling 260-468-2127 or visit the center at 3691 S. New Holland Road, Andrews or log onto www.dnr.IN.gov/uwis.
Fish or tenderloin dinner March 16
Hoagland Area Advancement Association will sponsor a fish or tenderloin dinner Friday, March 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Hoagland Park Pavilion located at 11320 Hoagland Road.
Cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children ages six through 12 and free for children under age 6 are free. For more information call 2600-447-1526 or visit www.hoaglandin.com.
Chili Supper March 17 at Poneto
Members of the Poneto Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a chili Supper Saturday, March 17 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Poneto Fire House.
The menu will include chili, chicken noodle, sloppies, hot dogs, homemade desserts and drinks. A free will donation will be accepted at the event.
Paws to Read program offered in March at Markle Library
The Huntington Public Library Markle branch will offer Paws-to-Read Program on the following dates: Saturday, March 17, 14 and 28 from 9:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at 197 East Morse St., Markle. In the program, children ages 6 through 12 participate in one-on-one sessions in which they practice reading aloud to trained therapy dogs.
For more information call the Huntington Library daily at 260-356-0824 or the Markle Branch at 260-758-3332 from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon. Space is limited and registration is required. There is no charge for this program.
Coin and Currency Show March 18
The Fort Wayne Old Fort Coin Club will sponsor a coin and currency show Sunday, March 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Allen County fairgrounds. There will be over 50 tables of numismatic material, free parking, free admission and food available.
Directions: Take I-69 to Exit 111B North on Lima to Carroll Road. Follow the signs to the show.
