Memory Exhibit at Science Central

Memory Exhibit now through Jan. 4 at Science Central
Science Central is currently hosting their new traveling exhibit entitled “Memory” now through Jan. 4, 2009.
There will be interactive exhibits showing everything from a demonstration of the firing of a single neuron in the brain to recalling childhood memories to witnessing actual brain dissections through video.

Fire Proof movie to be shown Dec. 31 at Living Faith
The hit movie “Fire Proof” will be shown New Year's Eve, Dec. 31, 2008 at 4 and 6 p.m. at Living Faith Missionary Church.
The public is welcome to attend the free event. The whole family is welcome. Nursery service will be available. There will also be games for the kids.

Thursday Night Bingo Dec. 31
Thursday Nigh Bingo will be played Thursday, Dec. 11, 18 and 31 at South West Conservation Club, Inc. It is open to the public.
Doors open at: 4:30 p.m. Warm-ups start at: 6 p.m. Regular Bingo starts at: 7 p.m.
Note: 31 December is our special "Bingo in the New Year" Event.

New Year's Eve Snoozeum at Science Central
Ring in the New Year at Fort Wayne's party just for kids at Science Central Dec. 31.
During the New Year's Eve Snoozeum kids will make noisemakers and arty favors for the countdown to midnight. They will enjoy pizza and liquid nitrogen ice cream during a late-night movie then snooze among the exhibits at Science Central into the wee hours of New Year's Day.
A continental breakfast will start the new year right.
The event is for children ages 7 to 15. No parents are allowed! Cost is $50 per child.

Adams County National Bird Count Jan. 1
Members of the Cardinal Bird Club will hold the National Christmas Bird Count for Adams County Jan. 1 from dawn to dusk.
Compilers will be Earlene Moser of Berne and Larry Parker of Decatur.

Boys & Girls Club open after school beginning Jan. 5
Beginning Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 the Wells Community Boys and Girls Club will be open Monday through Thursday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Members will receive a hearty after school snakc, however, the club will no longer be serving dinner.
The club will be closed on Fridays.

Salamonie Senior Lunch Jan. 5
Individuals age 50 and older are invited to attend the Jan. 5th Seniors' Lunch at the Salamonie Interpretive Center to learn about the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Peru Amateur Circus.
The program will begin with a meal at 12:30 p.m. The meat dish will be provided. Seniors should bring a dish to share, their own table service and $1 donation to help defray the cost of the provided meat dish. Staff from the Circus City Festival at Peru will share images and information about the July event.

Eagle Watch at Salamonie Jan. 17
The Salamonie Bird Club and guests will hold an eagle watching field trip Jan. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon or later.
Those attending should meet at the Salamonie Interpretive Center in the Lost Bridge West Recreation Area. People will car pool and travel along the Wabash and Mississinewa Rivers near Peru to look for eagles.
Fill up your tank for a trip of more than 30 miles. Bring snacks, sack lunches and drinks to join th e group. Dress for the weather and bring binoculars. The trip will last until noon. If you need to leave early, please drive separately or with a group who plans to do the same.

Get Ready…Get Set…Quit Smoking! will be held each Wednesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. from Jan. 21 through Feb. 11, 2008 at Bluffton Regional Medical Center North Building (behind Walgreens), 1935 N. Main, Bluffton.
Are you thinking about quitting smoking but don’t know how. Sign up for a weekly class lasting four weeks to help you get ready to quit smoking in 2009.

Hoagland Pancake & Sausage Brunch Jan. 25
Hoagland Area Advancement Association will sponsor a Pancake and Sausage Brunch Sunday, Jan. 25, 2008.
Served will be sausage, all you can eat pancakes and drinks at the Hoagland Park Pavilion located at 11320 Hoagland Road from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $6 for adults, $2.50 for children ages six through 12 and free for those under age five.
All proceeds will go to support Hoagland Park as well as donating to the Hoagland EMS and Fire Department. Funds will be matched by Thrivent. For more information call 260-417-7911.

Spike and the Bulldogs to perform at Boys & Girls Club Silent Auction and Dinner Jan. 31
The Boys and Girls Club will kick off their 2009 Operational Campaign with a dinner and silent auction Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009 at Timber Ridge Golf Course.
Social hour will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7 p.m. and Spike and the Buldogs will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.

Antique Arms Show Feb. 21
Conner Longrifles will present the 26th annual Antique Arms Show Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hamilton County 4-H Fairgrounds Exhibition Center in Noblesville, just west of Highway 37 on Pleasant Street. Admission is $5.
